Question How to fix Device or Resource Busy!?!?

I've been working on my machine here of late and doing several things at once... (2 of which are noted here)

1. I am updated to the 2.6.11 Kernel from 2.4.28 and have been for the last 3 days...
2. Working on getting my TV Card to Stream some TV....

While working with #2 I killed some app that captures from my tv card and now I get this:
Code:
v4l: open /dev/v4l/video0: Device or resource busy
So now I have a problem... Normally I'd reboot and forget about it but my new kernel isn't ready to be rebooted and I'm at a remote location. (Reboot is not an option.)

Is there a way I can make this device "un" busy and "un" locked withou rebooting?

The app I was using was killed via: killall -9 ffmpeg
(Ok, I think it was ffmpeg... streamer died correctly when I did that)

Something is still holding onto the device.. make sure all processes are killed that are using it..

Got it... HAd 2 things...

Rogue ffserver/ffmpegs... and bad config, but it said the other error and not bad config.... very odd..

It at least works... Still can't get a stream (WMP gets stuck on buffering) but this is solved now.
