how to declare a project's code as open source??


Hi, I have completed a project that I want to declare as open-source. Can someone please give me information on how to get this done in the right way??

Probably by telling that in (at least) the appropriate documents like README, distributing a license with the code and hopefully by adding comments to the source code files (in the beginning) that the code is under certain licence. If you prefer GPL (General Public License), you can grab some open source GPL-licenced project and use it as your example on how the license is distributed, how the source is marked etc.
