There is a RH GUI program for doing this although I cant remember its name. So look through your menu under the system or utility groups and you might find it. Or you could just use the install cd as your rescue media.

Hi Satimis

If I remember correctly you can make a boot floppy using :

root password

mkbootdisk - your exact kernel version for RH8

If you want a rescue floppy disk that works with any Linux distribution, try Tom's Root Boot.

Hi folks,

Lot of thanks for your information.

Mathieu's information is quite interesting, an Universal rescue floppy for Linux World.

I am running RH 8.0. On KDE I could not find the GUI program from the menu. Yes, I saw this program on KDE before but I could not recall the RH version.
