How to Create Partitions for Multiboot?
 

I have 40GB Hard disk, on that i have Windows Vista now i want to install Fedora and Redhat. First i want to install Fedora then Redhat. What partitions should i create for installing Linux Distro's?

Well you obviously need at least 1 partition for each different distribution. For reliability's sake you should ideally break up a Linux system into multiple partitions, but if you are just testing distros out and aren't trying to setup a permanent desktop you can get away with one partition each.

Additionally, you should create one swap partition that both distributions can share. This would leave you with 4 partitions total, which will work out well since you don't need to use any extended partitions. You will have one for Vista, two for different distributions, and the fourth for swap (this only needs to be 256 MB or so).

you can use any disk partitioning software to partition your hard disk.. but while installing linux please dont forget to format the new partition as ext2 or ext3 or ext4.. i prefer ext3..you should partition your disk into 4(imo)..one for windows, one for swap and two for linux.

What happened to fedora Installation and how can i access Fedora ?
 

Thanks for your reply. I have Windows vista on hda1.
As you said i installed Fedora by creating partitions / - ext3 on hda2 and a swap partition on hda3.
By doing this i got a new boot loader( i think it is called as grub) and got two options for selecting windows vista and also fedora 11.
After going through fedora, i installed Redhat on hda5 by creating / - ext3.
Upto now i didn't get a problem. But after rebooting the redhat i got only two options showing "other and Redhat".
When i tried boot from other i am able to access windows vista and through redhat option i can access redhat.
What happened to fedora Installation and how can i access Fedora ?
