How to check for installed software...

...not RPMS, but software installed from source.

Is there a way to see if a certain piece of software was installed from source?

I installed a piece of software called nss_ldap from source and now I just want to verify some how if and where it is installed.

There a way to do this?

Thanks everyone.

which nss_ldap
if it is an executable...

find /usr -iname "*ldap*" | less
to find anything under /usr
that has ldap in its name.

locate ldap | less
if you update your locate-database
frequently.

Cheers,
Tink

If you installed it from source, you should be able to figure out what it installed where simply by looking at the Make file.
