I bought a new lap top and i wanna try the new FC7 live cd version to see if it is compatible with my computer. Anyways, the thing is the iso is too big so it won't fit a normal cd so what i want to do is install it to a usb. I was reading the FC7 website and it said something about a livecd-creator tool but the thing is i need FC7 to run it which i think is just dumb, and i cannot find the same tool for FC6 which is what my other pc is running, what got me interested in that tool was that i didn't have to delete anything from i drive, so i suspect no formatting is involves. Anyhoo, thanks for your help
Nobody would ever make a live CD ISO that didn't fit on a CD, that would sort of defeat the purpose. The ISO itself is sometimes a bit larger than what the rated capacity of a CD-R/RW is, but it will still work.
it is probably a dvd but either way i can't burn it because my cd won't burn dvds
update: i mounted the iso and then copied the files to the usb which was formated as a FAT32 FS
but when i plug it in and restart the machine i only get a msg saying 'remove the media and press any key'
i have two problems now, first one is that i cannot boot from the usb and the second one is that i can't find the any key!! ok j/k about that. is there anyway i can install the iso to the usb, it seems that the error is because only copying the files like that won't work i guess?

I had the same problem... I used Nero and I burned the image on a DVD...
If you only want to try it out for a start, get QEMU and install the OS as a virtual one; you can do it using the image file.
The advices on how to install a distribution onto an USB disk may vary a bit depending on who has written them, but with a little tweaking they should do for most distributions. Still it's more hazzle than just going to a store and bying a disc. Or bying a DVD+-RW drive, they're not that expensive nowadays..
i followed the ubuntu step by step guide, but there are too many discrepancies so it is not possible to do it, is there no link for fedora anywhere online ?
