How to boot from cd?

I just found an old computer and am trying to install linux. But there is no option in BIOS to boot from a cd. Is there a way ?

PS: It's Windows XP SP 2( I think)

Any computer new enough to run Windows XP must have the option to boot to CD, perhaps it is called something else in the BIOS? What is the make and model of the machine?

HP Pavilion a820n

Crica 2004 computer from the specs. What I have found is that the boot order is under the advance tab within your BIOS.

From boot;
After the Flash screen, try F2 or 'Esc' for the boot menu, leaning more to the 'Esc' key to provide the boot menu. You should then get the menu to select the boot device.
