I know only on single programm that can do this, but you have to buy it. It can only read ext2...so in general the best answer to your question would be "no".

In know two prog that ca do that. One is explore2fs and the other I can't remember. It's freeware. You only have read support for ext2/3 files systems.here is a link
Now I am at work, so I can't try this but will do this afternoon.
Thanks for the info, by the way if you can remember the other one, please let me know...
i have been able to move files back and forth using partition magic 8 but not edit them directly in the partition....had to copy from linux partition to windows edit the file then copy it back....even then it is windows formated so to be usable in linux i had to go in and edit it there anyway....useless....you would be better off staying in linux
Try this. I've used an earlier version of this program before. All it could do was mount ext3 in Windows. Now I think it can mount anything from any OS.
hi , i dont see the reason you are trying to access linux partitions from winxp , anyway a little bit more elaborate discuss on the problem could have been handy like mentioning if it was ext2 or ext3 ,, anyway i am assuming its ext2 .. certainly accessing that partition is possible .. try EXT2 IFS for Windows NT Version 0.2. Thats a good tool , but it will certainly not work for win9x .. try using at your own risk .. the website quotes "EXT2IFS is a read only driver. It provides access similar to other read only media like CDs. You can view directory listings and read files. You can not write files, add files, delete files etc." ... anyway you can check out the details at http://uranus.it.swin.edu.au/~jn/linux/ext2ifs.htm .... you can also download it from http://uranus.it.swin.edu.au/~jn/lin...xt2ifs-0.2.zip , this distribution will hopefully work in winxp .... do lemme know if it works .. all the Best ..

I tried download explore2fs and successfully installed it.
Now I am using it and quite happy with it. I didn't try to write any file yet, but the main purpose to use it to access the data from Linux. It was simple and good enough.
