It would seem that there is no current official port of Slackware for the Mac.

www.google.com/linux .... priceless.

a quick google for "PPC Distro MAC" in linux, binary's compiled for the MAcintosh are labeled PPC (power PC) where binary's compiled for PC's are labeled ix86 where x = 3,4,5 or 6

anyways... a quick google gave me...

In the meantime, here are some PPC Linux resources on the Web.
Distros
Yellow Dog Linux
YDL have just released version 2.3 of their Mac Linux distribution, and it looks like a winner.
SuSE Linux
Popular distribution from the European Linux behemoth. The PPC distro is at version 7.3 and is looking good.
Mandrake Linux
Being a fan of all things French, I can't ignore Mandrake 8.2PPC, even though I've never used it.
MkLinux.org
Based on the same MACH microkernel as Darwin/Mac OS X, MkLinux is suitable for older NuBus machines and Performa PowerPCs.
Resources and Documentation
ResExcellence - Linux Icebox
The Linux Icebox -- some nice info and tutorials.
penguinppc.org/
The official home of the Linux/PPC port. Great news site.
check the link for the URL's hyperlinks dont seem to survive being coppyed and paster

There is a Slackware port for Macs! Slackintosh! The site hasn't been updated since November, but there is a 9.1-current development going.

go to http://linuxiso.org/ ... find the sort method drop down box towards the bottom of the screen for sort by architecture... choose PPC and press Go. you should see all the Mac installable nix distro's.. yellowdog is RH based and is probably the easiest to get running.. but from that list Gentoo would be the best option. but alas there is no slack port (on this site!).. there is slackintosh as stated above but i havent heard anything good from that one.. sorry.
