How do you convert ISO to img to access RPM files
Hi All,
I have downloaded linux Mandriva 10.1 official on my computer and the downloaded files came as Mandrakelinux-10.1-Official-Download-CD1.i586.iso and etc. Now, I want to burn them to CDs such they are bootable and contained all applications as .rpm. I have done that once in past, but can't remember. This is due to a lack of keeping a good records of my fixes. Please tell me what the commands are to use step by step. Thank you |
Use a CD burning software, select burn an image and "burn the image" on the cd

If you download an .iso image to burn to a CD, you are not concerned with whether it has rpm files....Just boot the CD (#1), and the installed does the rest.

Like the other say. once you burn the iso the rpm install files will be on the cd. If you are looking for a particular application you might find it on one of the directories on the cd. but You can't convert an iso into an rpm (as far as I know.)

So in other words, I should be able to use my xcdroast and burn there CDs? Why am I keeping thinking about the following: cdrecord -v speed=10 dev=0,0,0 track.img Thanks anyway, I will try it to night. I tought I once burn the first cd and when I open here is what I saw: Mandrakelinux-10.1-Official-Download-CD1.i586.iso and I was confused because I could not see any rpm files. Do I really make sense here? Thanks for your patience |

(a common problem) |
If all you saw was a single file ...iso then you did not burn the CD correctly. You can use cdrecord to burn the CD just use Mandrake...iso file instead of track.img
