How do I set up my own APT-GET RPM server on my web hosting

Hello, I would like to know how I can set up an apt-get server on my own web hosting package (don't worry I have my own web server to play with - so hdd space is no prob)

Reason being is: I am developing my own linux distro and would just like to use my own server for downloading packages... so i have a little bit more control over what is and more importantly isn't on there yet.

or do i have to sign up through a company that specialises in apt-get servers? and if so who?

I think all you would have to do is mirror the directory structure of any existing apt-get repository so that the client finds the packages it needs in the right places and enter the server location as the first entry in your apt configuration file.

Maybe some-one can chip in on this ..
