how do I delete all *~ files

I am trying to find and delete all the files that end with ~, but neither
locate *~
nor
find *~
finds them all, I read the man pages for both, but cannot find a good switch for that.
Can anybody help?
Thanks in advance
Nerita

Unhappy nevermind the first question

nevermind the first question just found that
find -name '*~'
will do it, but how do I remove all theses files?

rm *~
does not run...

I tried something like
find -name '*~' | rm
but it does not work either...

You mean "find -name '*~' | xargs rm -f". If you want to explicitly see/name the var, you could use "find -name '*~' | xargs -iX rm -f 'X'".
