How do I know if my distro is using systemd

hey LQ

I know fedora and arch is using systemd. I am using pclinuxos. How can I determine if any distro I install present and future is based on systemd

Thanks

one way to verify that systemd is your system and service manager is by running:

Code:
# cat /proc/1/comm
if it returns systemd then the system is using systemd.

rosehosting.com showed how to determine if a given system is using systemd, but I think there are some subtleties to this.

Distros aren't be based on systemd, but they may use systemd for the init system. You also need to consider that any given distro may have more that one init system to choose from and that the default may or may not be systemd. For example I'm currently using systemd on a Debian install (installed from the repos), but the default init system for that os is actually sysvinit.

Cheers,

Evo2.

I think man init should tell you what init daemon you're running on most distros.
