How do I install language support in Linux?

I run Slackware -current, and I was dumb enough not to install the Japanese/Chinese, etc etc font when I installed Linux.

So...how do I do it now?
I'd really like to be able to use the characters.

Any help?

The KDE rpm package for language support is named:
.
Code:
kde japanese support locales man pages OpenOffice
-------------------- ------- --------- ----------
kde-i18n-ja locales-ja man-pages-ja OpenOffice.org-help-ja
                                                OpenOffice.org-I10n-ja
For Chinese support look for -zh, -zh_CN, -zh_TW and big5 in the package names.
Two font packages for chinese support are:
fonts-ttf-gb2312 and fonts-ttf-big5

In the KDE control center, you can add the language that you installed support for.
One gotcha to note. Also add english, so that the display goes back to english.
The language selection requestor changes to the language you are installing

Also see Alastair Tse's Chinese how-to, which is great, and my page, which may have some helpful tips.
