Does anybody use gnome 1.2 regularly? If so do they know how you get rid of the annoying sound which plays almost every time I click on something. This is the first time I have used the Gnome desktop (looks very impressive dont you think?), and so I dont know my way around too well. This is on Mandrake 7.2 distro.

Under Helix Gnome you go to Settings->Multimedia->Sounds (or go to Multimedia->Sounds in the Gnome control panel). You should have a "sounds for events" button. You can disable sounds individually if you click on the Sound Events tab.
