How do I get Kmail to open links in email with Mozilla

Hello... I've been sifting through kmails options but I don't see anything which would allow me to set kmail to open links with mozilla. By default, it opens with Konqueror. Just as an example, I receive an email notification of a thread reply that I'm subscribed to.. I click the link and it opens in Kenq. Is there any conf files I can set to get these links to open with mozilla? Would there be anything in /etc/mailcap ?

If not, another thing that would be real helpful would be if someone had instructions on how I can get mozilla mail to open without giving me the profile error. I found a fix so that I could open 2 instances of mozilla browser, but have no idea how to get mozilla mail to open without the error.

Thanks

you should be able to set Mozilla as the default and Kmail should be calling the default browser.

In Gnome... I am going to assume that you are using gnome, you can go in and set your default apps....
Also you should be able to go into Mozilla, depending on your version, and click the set as default button when you click on 'Navigator' and over on the right side. I am using Mozilla 1.4.
I hope this helps...

nope... I'm in kde and I don't have that option in Mozilla [1.5]. When in preferences, I click on navigator, I do not have the set to default option. [Well, not for setting default browser for system anyway].

Any other ideas?

Cheers

I think this is what you need to do to open links with Kmail
In the Control Panel -> File Association -> text -> html, once there you add the browser that you want to open the links for example /usr/bin/mozilla and add a %u at the end.
So, the line should read like this:
/usr/bin/mozilla %u , then move up the browser to the top of the list

If one of you comes back to this old thread, where in the world is a Control Panel in KMail?
This sounds like M$ to me ;-) Anyway, I'm using KMail 1.5.4 and don't see a Control
Panel or any other way to do this. Can you be more specific?

I think breakerfall meant the kde configuration tool (kcontrol).

I'd forget it... When I tried that a long while back, it basically wanted to download the info to the comp and then view the link. You're better off with the email client that comes with mozilla...

I use Fluxbox -- left KDE's buggy bloat a while back.

Mine actually opens Mozilla 1.4, but I'm using Firefox 0.8. Maybe if I removed Mozilla,
or removed it from my $PATH, KMail would use Firefox.

Me too

I jumped onto xfce-4, it's nice.

Hmmm - needs to be something to tell kmail to use firefox. I very much doubt that removing mozilla will accomplish this.

Yes -- maybe some day the people who write Open Source will wake up and learn
how to write good documentation. It sure sucks big time today!
