su to root and remove the folder. It probably has the permissions of either root or the programmer who packaged it.

sudo rm -R ~/Desktop/<folder to remove>/

Hi,does

Code:
cd ~/Desktop
Code:
sudo rm -Rf folderyouwannaremove
work? Actually jschiwal's command I believe would work if you dropped the trailing / and just do it like.

Code:
sudo rm -R ~/Desktop/folderyouwannadelete
Be careful when doing recursive deletes, especially as root.

Hope it helps.

What if it like i said above it is a program that never installed all the way it stoped because it was the wrong architecture? and it only left that locked dir on my desktop, that should be ok to delete right?
