How do I create a slim virtual appliance?
I'm using vmware server on Linux and I already created some virtual machines. I want to be able to create vm for use on Windows. Do i just use the folders under "Virtual Machines" and try playing it using vmware player on a win box? The virtual appliances that are on the related vmware site are pretty small (3GB) I made my own indicating a 40GB...does that matter? When i looked at the virtual Fedora standard install the disk says it is an 8-9GB disk, but when selecting all the files for the player...it was only 3GB total. How can I get my own vm down to that size? What files are really needed? It seems like the .vmdk files aren't needed since, but when i attempt to play the vm without the .vmdk files, it complains. Any help would be great....tia...
