how do i burn audio cd's
 

well, um, thats pretty much my question :)

you use a cd burner.... pick any front end you wish (not a terrbily specific question...)

I think RH 9.0 comes with a version of xCDroast, but it is probably an outdated version. xCDroast is probably the easiest CDBurner to start with. Head over to their website and get the most current version.

When you say 'Audio CDs' I assume you mean MP3s. MPEG layer 3 is a proprietary codec, and as such does not find it's way into free (GPL'd) software. You should have mpg123 on your redhat install, and it will let you convert your MP3's into the proper format WAVs so that you can burn them.

try k3b, it is the best gui burning software you can get for rh 9 imho

well still.. any standard cd burner front end, gcombust, eroaster, arson, k3b etc...

Ye dude, it's really easy. I use k3b. Just it's the closest thing to nero under windows that you will see in linux. Just tell it you want to make a audio cd and select the mp3's you want.

Can anyone recommend a good CLI CD-burner? I mean for all file types / CD types (Audio, data, VCD?)

cdrecord

should already be on your system (at least I think it comes with slack 9). Most of the programs mentioned above are just a front end to cdrecord and mkisofs, which can both be used on the command line.
