How do I add those silly sayings to Eterm or the terminal


Hi, I have just recently switched to Ubunyu 6.0.6, and it doesn't seem to have those silly quotes and sayings when the terminal starts, my searches seem to turn up nothing(could just be my searches). if anyone could give me some assistance on this please do. thanks in advance.

Fortune is what displays those messages, but I think what you want is the -ls option with your xterm command. xterm by itself just shows a blank command prompt. xterm -ls shows fortune and uses any bash options specified in ~/.bashrc.
