Hello,
Even i need to add one hard disk in to existing hardware RAID 5 .
Can you help me? I dont have lot of details as i have to go to customer site to finish this task.So just please guide me how you do this procedure . Any documents or links in this regards..
Hardware RAID HDD replacement goes:: using commandline or ui of whichever make of card you are using; remove drive from array. Replace drive with new one. Add drive to array. Rebuild array. Done. If you're really lucky, the device will pick up on the new drive automagically and rebuild itself.
Leandean,
Thanks for the reply. But it's not clear. All i want to do is ADD another hard drive to the server.
You said 'build raid array'. How?
What are the command lines to be used.
This is Redhat RHEL 4
