How can root unplug/plug USB device with only command root ?


Hi

I have an issue with an USB irda. It locks up after 2-4 min. Can I unplug it / replug it , not physically , but looking like with the root command line ?

Hi,
You can also use the "sync" command to actually force the flushing of data to disk, unmounting the drive does the same thing also.

Say it is device sda1 you want to unmount, in root console issue command

umount /dev/sda1
