How can I rename the LABEL on my partition

can anybody tell me which command will be suitable for changing the label on my partitions from LABEL to something mere descriptive:confused:

I suppose you partitions are ext2 or ext3 and your primary disk is an ATA disk.
# tune2fs -L "partition 1" /dev/hda1
