How Can I give an image from a VCD ?


Hello

How we can give an image from a VCD or VCDO ?
When I try to do it with k3b it spend about 2 hour for reading that image !!!

can it be done ? with other things ?

try dd, look at manpage.

ex.:
dd if=/dev/sda of=filename.iso

Depending on permissions you may need to be root, just type this
Code:
cat /dev/cdroms/cdrom0 > my_vcd.iso

hello, and thanks

But i had tried it , and it didn't work.
Also i tried to mount a VCD and then copy its files, but it report I/O error with all of my VCDs when copying their files !!!!

Of course i am using SUSE 9.1 and KNOPPIX 3.7 and not testing other versions such as fedora ..

Any other idea ??

Are you logged in as root? Sometimes you need special permissions to access the device and an I/O error is what you can get if you don't have permission.
