How boot-cd works? Can I run this "autostart" within Linux?

I mean install-cds. You put cd in, load a PC... and it boots. Can I run this "autostart" program somehow within Linux? Or can I copy it (if it's small enough) to floppy? How can I see it? What is it? And how is it?
Thanks.

Yes it can be done, but there is a little bit of work to do it.

Check out the "Bootdisk-HOWTO" at http://www.linux.org/docs/ldp/howto/...WTO/index.html
