How about some TV? Radio?

This is not intented to be a purely 'Please help me' thread although I have some questions.

If you have a TV/radio tuner which is your favourite application and why?

I have an AVermedia Studio 303 TV tuner with stereo sound, radio, teletext and a remote! Seems it is a cx23881 chip so with kernel 2.6 support works fine. Good picture quality and clear sound. Best application for watching is tvtime. Easy setup and very good picture! Kdetv seems very good also and is more customisable but it has some problems with picture quality (as if it doesn't deinterlace properly although I've chosen many different algorithms). I'm trying to get mythtv up for capturing but I have some mysql issues.
The only radio application I found is kradio which behaves really strange. It starts when I am a normal user, a bar pops-up and fills in in ~2sec and then I stop gatting any visual feedback. There is no system trace icon either but ps lists it normally. Naturally I have to kill it. When I start it as root though I begins normally. It draws all its windows on the screen. I tried to set it up as root and performed a scan. It memorized some radio stations (about 10) while it should find ~25. Anyway I cannot make it give any sound. My tuner connects to the sound card's line in with a loopback cable. I set kradio to "listen" to the line in but in the end I only get some clicks. The device /dev/radio0 exists and seems normal and the line is not muted by the mixer. Does anyone have any ideas? (Or an alternative application). As far as the teletext is concerned I have not found any plugins or applications but I didn't search a lot. Finally the remote is not supported by lirc so I can't do much. It is exactly the same with Avermedia studio 203 remote and the receiver connects to the tuner via a jack similar to a headphones stereo jack (it's a bit smaller). Pitty, with lirc you can control a lot of things in the computer. Maybe it will be supported in the future. So what is your experience of linux on this matter?
