hey apache problem!! help needed

i am trying to execute a script which is in /opt/dir from

scripts that are in cgi-bin.I am getting error of permission denied even

though i hav given 777 permissions to all these directories.

But wen i copied the script from /opt/dir its running.

But i cant copy all scripts in /opt/dir to cgi-bin n run them.

So,wat should i do?

You can use ScriptAlias to define an alias for /opt/dir. For example, if you want apache to run scripts from /opt/dir, whet it encounters /cgi-bin/scriptname.cgi, the use:
ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ "/opt/dir/"
