Help plz. about tomcat jakarta in linux machine

Dear all,
I have installed tomcat jakarta(jakarta-tomcat-4.0.3.tar.gz) in redhat linux 7.0 machine.

it installed in /usr/local/tomcat-4.0 direcoty

while starting ther server /usr/local/tomcat-4.0/bin ./catelina.sh

the server is not starting
********************************
but I got the message like this "
Using CATALINA_BASE: /usr/local/tomcat-4.0
Using CATALINA_HOME: /usr/local/tomcat-4.0
Using CATALINA_TMPDIR: /usr/local/tomcat-4.0/temp
Using JAVA_HOME: /usr/java/j2sdk1.4.0
****************
assume we are in /usr/local/tomcat-4.0
But thers is no server.xml in conf folder
there is no jar files in lib folder
only webxml folder has all the specific folder including example directory.

Totally there is no sample html file and samples java files.
but all the sample java's file directories are there in the jsp folder which in /webapps/examples/jsp/

do u thing the installation is correct or not?
if it is correct, then why the server is not starting?

Hope, I will get ans..

regards
Harish

I was lucky to come across the following page
http://www.yolinux.com/TUTORIALS/Lin...t.html#JAVAJDK
and I used the rpms (the link is provided on the page) to install tomcat4, try it.
