help needed with internet connection
Hi,
I am trying to solve his for a while; I hope someone can help. I have Mandrake 9.1 and have an ethernet card working (eth0) and a adsl speedtouch modem using usb. Both where running ok on one occasion. The problem is when I want to connect to the internet, it is trying to do so using eth0, and not the usb modem. So my question is really: 1) Is there in Mandrake something like a dial-up icon (or command), so I can select the usb modem as dailer to internet? 2) If not, how else can I achieve to get internet running. The hardware settings are ok, since they worked before (probably by accident) help appreciated Patrick |
It soiunds like a routing problem.
Try: route You will probably see that it is using eth0 for the default gateway. |
Hi,
I set the default gateway to 192.168.1.1 and it works indeed. It still baffles me why Mandrake says it's connecting through eth0 and not the usb device. Anyhow thanks :) |
