Help - Confused

For the last month I have read almost every forum post plus a lot of the old ones. From what I see most would like to help. I do see some that "belittle" or "put down" a post if some of the information isn't there or terminology isn't the best. I first started with lindows 4.5 and then switched to Suse 10.1 because it seemed easier for me to deal with. On my first post I didn't think to tell what distribution or what type of machine I was using, I was trying to get the modem to work. I'm still having problems with the terminology. I just hope that if I need to due another post that someone will point me in the right direction. It seems that every problem has been covered at least somewhere if a person can just find it. Thanks to all for the help I have received.

Ok, do you have a question?

Yes, if you fail to provide enough information to give someone some idea of what the problem is, what distro you're using, and what errors you're seeing people are going to ask for that information. Sometimes not so politely. Asking good questions gets you good answers.

Any time you have a problem or question you should use the search feature and do a bit of google searching before you answer. Odd are real good that someone else has had the same problem or asked the same question. Learning to search first can save you a lot of time waiting for answers.

It isn't belittling, it's education. Asking good questions is important.

How to ask questions the smart way

To save us time and increase the chance of an answer i would recommend that you Quote your original question or just type it up again :)

Can't help you with this--except to suggest that you post it a separate thread with a descriptive title.
