Are you saying that before you just entered your IPS's DNS address and it worked. Then all of a sudden it stopped working?
It might be with your ISP. Usually you ISP's DHCP server will pass all the info to you when you log on. If you fire up your internet connection and then open you resolv.conf, There should be a section that says something about a temp DNS address. That is usually where that info is put by ppp. Maybe your ISP messed something up. Are you running a firewall or did you do something with your firewall that might have caused it?
hmm im using my WinXp posting this. its really annoying swithcing back and forth..
but before i just run kppp and set up my con. i put my DNS IP on DNS tab. and choose where my modem is. and then i click ok and i typed my username and pass for my isp and i got connected and before i knew it i was surfing and posting.
I've had a similar problem; ping worked but www didn't. You may try disabling the local dns by checking a checkbox in the dns page of the kppp config wizard. It worked for me...
amm. a little more specific with the iptables thingy..
post what commands should i use and stuff like that.
im a n00b so i dont know that much. thanks.. ill try to see my firewall setting.
