Hard to go wrong with Knoppix. It has been carefully designed and is extremely flexible. It allows you to save a custom configuration easily to USB storage, several different ways. So, if you have some cheap flash pens, you can have a custom configuration for different key employees (like the boss's secretary).

Knoppix can be run from RAM.

Kanotix is designed to be easy to install. It has all the goodness of Knoppix plus easy installation and klik. klik allows you to add lots of software to a USB device that won't fit on your CD.

Or, PCLinuxOS might be a better fit for you. It allows you to create your own custom Linux distros easily, and you can install it easily! It's not my favorite distro, but it's close. You really should take a close look at it.

Hmmm. Only problem might be that these distros require 700MB, not 650. Well, with PCLinuxOS, you can customize and take off some uneeded software to get it under 650MB.

Good Luck!
