Hello. this is the first time i have ever tried to use linux on a computer that wont work, i have burn the puppy linux to cd using a free iso burner, i put it in to the pc that will not start with out blue screening before using the puppy cd. It goes through the process of loading then it gets to a bit saying login(109141): root login on 'tty1'
cat: /ect/oldmousedevice: bno such file or directory
the file /ect/ mousebuttons has been created, with content "S"
then the screen goes blank and in the centre of the screen is a small box saying message ... mode not supported ... H:35.4KHZ ... V:78.8HZ
Would be ever so greatful if some one could help me out here, really need to get some saved stuff off this old computer.
Hey guys, sorry for the long delay in replying, but yeah i tried a different linux and it worked great, i got all my saved stuff off it
And yeah worked out how long i had the computer for and was all most 9 years lol
I have had great luck with puppy booting from a usb, the latest versions work on nearly every box I have tried. Even wifi works most of the time without issue. Great as a toolbox live disk.
