Hi,

I am implementing Real Time Scheduling for Linux 2.4 kernel. Can anybody suggest me FROM WHERE SHALL I START? Will it helpful to follow 2.6 kernel scheduling. Any idea of approx time require tp back port 2.6 to 2.4 ?

Amit

Maybe start with "the RealTime Application Interface for Linux" or RTAI for short at https://www.rtai.org/. Alternatively you could check out "Building an ADEOS/RTHAL-enabled kernel" at http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~sisla...tall_RTAI.html and take it from there to get to current 2.4.3x kernel.
* And please don't use all caps. It is similar to RL shouting and is not considered proper netiquette anywhere in the Internet.

Depends on stuff like time constraints, knowledge of programming and kernel structures and major changes between 2.4 and 2.6, if you did develop or help develop a scheduler. If you find stuff in 2.6 you would like to see in 2.4 I would drop the question of backporting it to the schedulers' maintainer, offer your help and take it from there.
