Hard/Soft Real Time Scheduler for Linux 2.4

Hi,

I am implementing Real Time Scheduling for Linux 2.4 kernel. Can anybody suggest me FROM WHERE SHALL I START? Will it helpful to follow 2.6 kernel scheduling. Any idea of approx time require to back port 2.6 to 2.4 ?

Bye,

Amit

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.

Hi amit
You can start looking at the kernel sources and start understanding the kernel datastructures which are specific to ur project(like task_struct etc).Your project i think mainly revolves around two files i.e kernel/sched.c and include/linux/sched.h.
good luck.
