hard drive won't boot after partitioning

I "had" on one 40gb drive installed XP together with MDK 9.1 using LILO boot loader.

I was playing with partitions in MDK and made (by mistake) different partition on same already partitioned place. Then I rebooted and this drive won't boot anymore.

I put it in another box (xp) and it won't boot.I mean XPs starts boot up but then it stopes while booting, then rebooting itself and again,again...untill I stop it.

So I made on anothed hard drive (80gb!) same thing, dual boot XP with MDK using LILO.Then I tried to put this (let's call it) "OLD" 40gb drive as slave and erase it somehow, but system won't boot into own new hard drive(80gb). On 80gb drive LILO won't start, only XP starts and then stopes and reboot itself. It looks like its OLD drive is trying boot. But it can't because I set BIOS to boot from new 80gb drive ONLY.

I don't care about stuff in that OLD 40gb drive.Only I care about is 40gb (Samsung) I'd like to use in another box.

Finally question is:

Is there any way I could erase whole drive?

Forgot,I know about jumper settings,BIOS,etc.

If it was 6gb drive I don't care but 40gb is a lot.

Hope you understand it with my bad english.

The new drive boots just fine. Both XP and MDK using LILO.

Even other box boots ok - only XP.Everywhere I put this BAD drive I can't boot.No matter which box.

Boot your linux boot floppy or ccdrom and then you can format the drive and load a bootloader to it if you need to from there.

You could probably get a boot floppy image from the drive manufacturer online and test / repair it.

thanx for posting.

I searched here and then I tried it whith its MDK cd,but failed. When using fdisk it said "read only",so I couldn't erased it.Anyway rebooted into new drive ( which was wierd cause it didn't boot before when bad drive connected),while booting I deleted those 2 bad partitions (It was why drive was useless ).Booting finnished (new drive).I checked Drakconnect and found this drive. Those 2 bad partition were still there so I deleted them again.
Then I tried boot MDK cd (had only the BAD drive connected,BIOS etc),I wanted to re-install LILO ( so I could leave it there and used 80gb somewhere else),but get some error again. It was last chance.

So finally I put new drive back and booted into it.And DELETED its bad drive, all partitions.

thanx for your time, now I have my drive ready for use.
