Hard Drive Partitioning for Large Hard Drives
Hey all,
I just got a new 500GB hard drive for Christmas and am wondering about partitioning it. I currently have my main drive as a 300GB partitioned into / (~50GB) and /home (~250GB), so this drive will strictly be for storage (IPTV, Podcasts, etc.). What I can't decide is partitioning. One big partition? A bunch of little (20-40GB) partitions and then use LVM?
I'm probably going to use JFS on this system, which would allow me to expand the filesystem under LVM.
All thoughts are welcome.
Thanks,
David
