gtkrc file

I just wanted to change my gtk application looks. How do i do this. I found the .gtkrc file in my home/name directory.

It was as follows
# -- THEME AUTO-WRITTEN DO NOT EDIT
include "/usr/share/themes/Bluecurve/gtk/gtkrc"
# -- THEME AUTO-WRITTEN DO NOT EDIT

Even thought i changed Bluecurve to something else, there is no change in my application.
Could someone please point out to me my mistake.

Thank You
Abhishek Samuel

I use /home/myname/.gtkrc-2.0 for fluxbox to set nautilus ect.
Not sure if you are using metacity and gnome
Code:
gtk-icon-theme-name = "Lush"
gtk-theme-name = "Vignette"

The file you need is .gtkrc-2.0 for most applications - hardly anything (except xmms) uses gtk 1 any more. I just have .gtkrc-2.0 as a symlink to .gtkrc, so if I change one the other changes too.
