GRUB Section2 load error, partition error.

Help!

I went from Mandrake Linux 10.0 with LILO to Fedora Core 2.

During the install it said something about unknown partition thing, may cause problems with bootloader, it said may so I wasn't sure if it was a problem, hooboy, now I'm in deep shit. I have linux installed on an ext3 partition seperate from my hda1 partition of windows, which has the MBR and GRUB bootloader in it too.

I really screwed up, GRUB completely flat freaking stops, no error message, just says GRUB - sector(section?) 2 loading or something like that, and just keeps blinking forever.

I would look through the documents (I tried) but I don't know what I'm looking for.. please help, I just wanna get back to windows, I'm on a KNOPPIX rescue disk right now posting this.

I don't know what the hell to do, or why grub won't work. I'm desperate, I can't format windows which has the MBR on it to get rid of grub, and I don't know how to install LILO from KNOPPIX because it wont let me

Crap I just want it to work.

If I'm understanding your problem correctly, you just want to be able to boot back into windows and grub is keeping you from doing this. The fairly simple solution to this is to do an

fdisk /mbr

from a DOS boot disk. This will rewrite the MBR with a normal DOS boot loader that will just boot the active partition. You may have to go into fdisk and make your Windows partition the Active partition (probably the Linux partition is currently).
