What about a manual entry? You can add it to /etc/grub.d/10_linux or something. The exact form should be easy enough to figure out from either:

- the entries in /boot/grub/grub.cfg,
- the wiki guide https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Grub2
- the deodimedo tutorial http://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/grub-2.html

(I would prefer all of these to the man pages. Not that man-pages are not handy for some stuff but... )

Ya I tried that and it did not work for me. I think I just had the wrong syntax of the command. At this time I reloaded the drive and all is well. Until I try something else.

what I can't find in any how-to is how to make a grub2 submenu?!

with reg grub its easy as

Code:
title go to other menu
root (hdx,x)
configfile /boot/grub/other.lst
trying similar with grub2 dont work

Code:
menuentry "Go to other menu" {
   configfile /boot/grub/other.cfg
}

you guys make any grub2 iso's yet?
its pretty easy as long as you only use one grub.cfg

I'll start a new thread on grub2 iso/usb if you want?
