when i run 'grub-install /dev/hdb' after a 'chroot /mnt/sysimage' from linux rescue mode,it shows an error that there is no BIOS device corresponding to /dev/hdb6.this hdb6 is my linux / partiton. The system was working perfectly alright with the same grub.conf.i just went for lilo and it showed an error that it will require some 1600 cylinders.(this system is an old celeron one,and so the bootloader must be within the first 1024 cylinders.).so i went back to grub.this system(my friend's) does not have a first ide bus,i.e,all the partitions lie in hdb.
thanks in advance!!
