Grub hanging
hello all,
i'm having some problems with a server here at work. we tried to reboot the machine last night, but upon boot grub hangs with the words "GRUB " in the upper left hand corner of the screen.
seems to me the MBR might be corrupt or grub in general has gone bad.
what i need is how to get access to the machine and reinstall a bootloader (probably will go with LILO).
i'm a slackware user, and as this machine is running RedHat 7.2 i'm a little unfamiliar with Grub and Redhat. I created a boot.img boot disk, but that didn't give me too many options.
also, this machine is running raid, and when i tried to boot off a slackware boot disk, i typed "mount root=/dev/rd/c0d0p1" at the boot prompt, but it didn't get past the "mount....".
any suggestions? :-)
