Thanks

have you tried booting from a USB thumb drive to fix it? I use puppy on a USB drive on my EeePC all the time. boots fine. press ESC at post & you should be able to pick USB as the boot device.

After first reboot, when I realised that I have grub error I picked removable drive as 1st boot device.
It did not change anything. It did not boot from thumb drive, grub rescue mode again.
