grub configure to take it's conf file from a fat32 partition

could this be done ?

I have installed grub on the mbr of hda but now i need to share its conf file (or grub.lst) with my xp.

So can just set grub to take it's configurtion file from another partition

more correctly i'm trying to setup grub on hd0 but having it taking it's conf file from (hd1,5)
for now i get a "bash like" interface :(

appreciate your help, maxim.

What do you mean by share? Are you trying to add a menu item to boot XP? AFAIK XP can not deal with grub.

You can specify a different file but never tried from a FAT32. See man pages for grub for additional info
