grub booting help plz..

hi..
I just deleted linux from my computer (in windows XP).. since then I can't boot windows.. when I startup it stays in DOS, with a message: grub>
and is waiting for a command..
does anyone know how to load windows, and then how I can stop this from appearing again so that windows loads automatically??

Thanks a lot..

Hany

Most simple thing to do would be to pop your XP disk in and boot off it. I'm pretty sure the auto repair
facility will reinstall the windows bootloader.

I saw a post on this very subject yesterday - i think there's a comand in the XP recovery console to reinstall the bootloader. I guess either way works though.

EDIT - use peters suggestion...much easier. I'd forgotten about that..good skills:-)

or a dos/win98 bootdisk and do
c:> fdisk /mbr

That is the old way to fix it.

No it will not format your hard disk - though if you use the XP CD to repair your system, make sure you select the correct option i.e. repair rather than install
