graphics aren't right.. need a better x config
Hello,
I have my SUSE Linux 10 (KDE) setup on a system running dual monitors. I have two 19" Samsung CRTs (955SL and 955DF) connected to a Matrox Millenium G550 graphics card, and I use xinerama to get one large desktop. It looks OKAY, not great -- a bit fuzzy -- running 1280x1024 on each monitor, refresh rates of around 79Hz.
I am used to a bit higher though. I run 1360x1024 on Windows on another system. I go into YaST, the control panel for SUSE, and set the monitors to 1400x1050 or so, but the picture looks weird. The image is rounded at the edges, and has a bright border at the top.
I know the monitors are capable of better, because I use them with my Windows and Mac machines (on KVM), so I maybe my graphics card is not up to par. How can I figure out what the optimal configuration for xorg.conf is for running at this resolution? (Tried search, but nobody is using a res this high with a G550).
I appreciate any suggestions.
