gnotime create projects

Trying to figure out how to run gnotime.

The help screens say "So, the first thing you need to learn is how to create new projects."

So I am on the main screen and click New and enter a project title and description in the boxes that pop up, click OK.

Nothing happens.

I tried making entries in the boxes on the main screen, and see no way to save anything, and clicking Timer does nothing; activity journal is empty and properties says I must first select a project (suggesting none has been created).

Does this program work? What's the secret?

Gnome Time Tracker is a very useful time and project management utility for Linux Mint / Ubuntu. This is useful especially when you need to track time required to complete certain activities.
When you first opened it will ask you to create a new project. To make understanding more proper, please see the below link.

The workspace is pretty simple to use and understand. You can make new projects and then within these projects create new entries, start and stop timer for each of these entries to track the time taken for each of these entries to complete.

I think you try again to create a new project and add a timer while doing a particular task inside a project.

There was no screen shot attached.

I just now clicked New and entered project name and description and OK. Then clicked on timer. Nothing happened. The screen is blank. Clicked menu "Timer" and then Start timer. Lower left shows "00:00 Timer is not running".

Is there a permissions issue perhaps?

Sorry for not finding the link. Please refer the next mail to find it. I have attached the link but on previewing i was unable to find them. I think you need to be install the application as a root user.

# install it using sudo and then run. I think this may solve permission issue.

Your second post with the links actually gave me the starting clue. When Gnotime opened for me, it did not have the large panel on top that in your one screenshot is called "Title" and under that it says "Blog."

So I dragged that space down and found all the attempts I had made to create projects and descriptions!

Now to play with it and see if it is usable for my business.
