Gnome-terminal window shrinks when opened

Hi, all. Using Fedora 16 64 bit with KDE. When I open gnome-terminal it opens to a little, average sized window then immediately starts shrinking until it's very small, way too small to use. I have to manualy resize the window to a decent size. This started after I changed my user name. I've looked through all the configurations I can in gnome-terminal and the only way I can stop it is do away with the scroll bar. Thanks ahead of time.

It is a bug
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=707664
you have two options:
1- upgrade to the latest version of gnome terminal
2- check out this link

good luck

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately my problem persists. Doing away with the scroll bar works, I don't mind scrolling up using the console method. I hesitate to mark this thread SOLVED just yet, though. Some people might not want to do away with the scroll bar.
