maybwe you'd like to give a tiny bit of evidence to support this claim. there's no point just stating these things.

I've got very frequent KDE crashes on Redhat 8.0. Stick here, stuck there.
Recently I switched to GNOME and I found it stabler.

Well, talk to u later. I've finished work already.
I'm going back.
YEAH!!

why have you found it stabler?
which particular aspects seem more robust?

Redhat made a lot of changes to the kde that they ship with RH8, that many that the kde developers will not offer support or bugfixes for stock RH8 kde installs.

I use red hat 8.0 and for some strange reason when ever I try run gnome my computer stalls and messes up really bad. Some times I have to restall red hat
all over again because of the massive crashing. But when I use kde my computer is super fast. Here or my specs. CPU: 250MHz Intel Pentium 1. 8Mb Ram and a default video card. But when I run kde it runs like a 2.7 GHz intel pentium 4 with 1024Mb ram. It's very strange that you think Gnome(a.k.a computer crasher) is better than kde.

I understand how amazing linux is, and how it can run on a wide variety of hardware, but...

8MB RAM! And pusing KDE as well, that's amazing. Along with the fact that it appears fast to you, that is, well that's amazing.

Cool

Actually the correct term would be "more stable".

stabler means that you are a stable keeper, like for horses you know....

I find the stock RH8.0 KDE3 to be rock solid, it hasn't died on me once yet! It does drag somewhat though but that would have a lot to do with my processor (celeron 333), RAM (64MB), and the services I have running (I use it as a router/firewall/web server/mysql server...).

The deal is you have to contact redhat if you have a problem with a stock RH8 kde install.
