Gnome freezes while KDE works
I have a little strange problem....
Everything was working fine - except the playing of the Audio CDs. I found the solution to that problem on this forum:
ln -s /dev/hdd
chmod 666 /dev/hdd
chmod 666 /dev/cdrom
chmod 666 /dev/audio
Everything worked out fine and I could play CDs.
But the next time I started Linux - Gnome won't start (it freezes after loading wallpapper, before loading panels and desktop icons.
But, KDE loads up normaly each time.
Then I restarted in text mode and deleted symbolic link - Gnome started up fine. Then I created it again - again Gnome freezed. But during the time (last 5/6 days) it mixed up - so now Gnome sometimes starts if there is the link, and sometimes doesn't - but I'm sure that I'm missing a point somewhere...
Today, I taught that the problem just "went away" since my Gnome started normaly. Then I restarted it - and it stared normaly 3/4 times. Then I inserted the Audio CD (it was playing fine), restarted - and Gnome freezes again...
